Note from Wendy Phillips: Far left is Samson's Electrical, which in 1965 also had a small display case containing a few items of jewellery. My husband (to be then) went into the store to buy an Akai tape deck, when a string of Miki Moto pearls caught his eye. He forewent the tape deck and bought the pearls instead as a present for my sixteenth birthday. Next is, I think, James Arcade, then the Salad Bowl, run by the Emery family, and to the right is Worrall's chemist.
