Peter appears in the 1841 census, living in Back lane, Mevagissey with his parents Ephraim and Mary, brothers John and Robert, and sisters Mary and Betsy. His occupation is listed as Sawyer. In the 1861 census he is the head of the house, living with his wife Elizabeth and three surviving children, John James and Catherine. James does not appear with the family in the 1871 census, and I can find no trace of him in the 1871 or any subsequent censuses. Peter, now listed as a woodcutter, and Elizabeth are living at The Meadow, Mevagissey with their seven-year-old grandson, John, in the 1881 census, their last appearance. It is likely that both of them died before the 1991 census was taken.
Peter married Elizabeth Chapple, daughter of William Chapple and Elizabeth Rowe, on 23 Aug 1846 in Mevagissey, Cornwall, England 69.,70 (Elizabeth Chapple was born about 1821 in Mevagissey, Cornwall, England and was christened on 19 Aug 1821 in Mevagissey 92,94.)
