Thomas Henry Parsons was the 8th. of 9 children born to James and Mary Parsons (nee Beagley). Mary Ann Nash was the first child born to Ann Nash of Farnham, Surrey. Ann Nash was a single mother when Mary Ann was born. No father was named on Mary Ann's christening document. Ann Nash married James Elkins in 1838 and their family grew to include 8 children. Thomas Henry and Mary Ann Parsons raised a family of 6 children. They might have had more children born between the years 1860 and 1869, but as yet, I have not found any reference to any. ( Thomas Henry was a carpenter by trade, so it is possible that the family was living elsewhere during the years 1860-1869 and any children born during those years were christened in another town. I have yet to find the family listed in an 1871 census. The 1881 census does not show any children born between 1860-1869, so there either were none or they died young). Mary Ann Parsons died shortly after the 1881 census was taken. As yet, I have not found Thomas Henry Parsons, or his family, on the 1891 census (although Mabel Kathleen was living with her older brother, Walter). I am not sure if Thomas had died or moved.
Note by Wendy Clarke nee Phillips: The 1871 England and Wales census (RG 10/821) has Thomas and Mary Ann living at Upper Hale and lists the following children:
Alfred, Elizabeth, Ellen, Herbert, Walter and Winnifred (spelling). Elizabeth appears in the 1881 census (RG11/0787 fol. 53 page 35) as a servant in the household of John Griffith at 24 Boro Street, Farnham. To date I haven't been able to positively confirm the whereabouts/deaths/marriages of Ellen or Winifred past the 1871 census.
