Mary Ann Parsons

Mary Ann Bartholomew (nee Parsons) and her husband Stephen lived in the Farnham area all their lives. Stephen was born in Farnham, as was his father, James, before him. The Bartholomew family was a large, well established family of the area. I could not find any children for Stephen and Mary Ann Bartholomew listed in any censuses, nor any christening records. Stephen Bartholomew's occupation was one of agricultural laborer. The 1881 census lists Stephen and Mary Ann Bartholomew were living at Badshot Lea, Farnham, Surrey.

Note by Wendy Clarke nee Phillips: Stephen and Mary Ann also appear in the 1871 census, aged 51 and 52 respectively. Again, they have no children living with them, and like Sandie I cannot find any confirmed evidence that they ever had a family.

Mary married Stephen Bartholomew, son of James Bartholemew and Elizabeth Quennell, on 27 Nov 1842 in Farnham, Surrey, England.^{1 2} (Stephen Bartholomew was born about 1820 in Farnham, Surrey, England ⁴, christened in Apr 1820 in Farnham ³ and died post 1881.)
